Today is the last day of NHS’s Hygiene Drive.  We are competing against South to raise supplies for those in need through Family Building Blocks.  We don’t want to see Principal Miller in Baby Blue, so bring new soap, toothpaste, and other personal items to fill your class’ bag or drop them off at the JambaTable in the Commons. Thank you.

Attention swimmers! If you are not getting emails from Coach Evans, please look him up under coaches on westsalemhigh.com, and then go to the main office to get your t-shirt and swimsuit order form from the Bookkeeper or Athletic Secretary today! Orders are due Friday Oct 27th.  Everyone is getting a shirt this year so please remember to order your!

Hoodies are restocked and in the Student Store now.  Stop in to get yours! Only $20.

National Honor Society’s induction is Monday October 23rd at 7 pm in the Auditorium.  If you applied and didn’t get a letter yet please check with Mme Beckstrom in B126 today.

NHS Fall social is tomorrow night, from 6 -9 PM in the upper gym. Pumpkin painting, caramel apple bar and snacks galore!  Costume contest, too!  Join us for a Fabulous Evening!

Today and Tonight’s game is PURPLE OUT to raise awareness and funds for bullying and suicide prevention.  You can get t-shirts or wristbands in the Commons during lunches or before the game at the main gate.

Looking for College Scholarship opportunities? Any 9th thru 12th graders can enter a national patriotic speech writing competition. The due date is Oct 31st, so don’t delay. For more information, see Mrs. Myers in the Counseling Center.

Attention all swimmers, b-ballers and wrestlers:  tryouts for winter sports begin on Monday November 13th.  You will need to get your Titan card from the Athletic Office before that.  If this is your first sport you will need to get a sports packet from the front office and verify that you have a current physical.  Completed packets get turned in to the Athletic Office after Halloween in exchange for the Titan card.

Looking for something fun to do tomorrow morning? Need service hours?  Join Teen Action Team, Students for Change, and Latino Club as we clean up the park next door, tomorrow, from 9AM to noon.

The science department needs your help! Biology teachers need as many 2-liter bottles as possible for an upcoming project. If you have any 2-liter bottles, please bring them to school and drop them off in Ms. Henderson’s Room, D220.

Have you received an EPIC ticket from someone? Please bring those down to the student center because we will draw 100 students every Friday for a free slushee or candy!! Come down to the board near the student store to see if your name was drawn. You can get your slushee or candy on Fridays. West Salem is proud of you for being a great citizen and a kind person to others. West value’s this so much!!

If you park in the neighborhood, please be a good neighbor! Park 12 inches from the curb line. Park in the same direction as traffic and 20 feet away from any crosswalk. Pick up trash around your car.  If you are parked illegally, you may receive a traffic citation from the city of Salem.

 Students, if you are parking on campus without a permit you will be ticketed.

If you HAVE a permit and are parking illegally you will be ticketed. Do not park in handicapped or numbered areas, spaces marked Visitor or curbs painted red.   Please note!  The main driveway out front has a yellow painted curb.  This is a LOADING ZONE and you are not allowed to park in this area.  If you park in red or yellow areas, you may be ticketed by Salem Police.   If you have any questions, please go to the Student Center.

Seniors – If you need help completing your PEP, stop by the counseling center.  Remember it is a graduation requirement due on November 1st.
